Task
Write two 550 word responses that make links between a contemporary Indigenous Australian circumstance, Australia?s history and the Human and Indigenous rights frameworks that inform change in the future, using the following structure:

Identify and describe a contemporary circumstance that affects Indigenous Australians such as one of those explored in Module 3 (education, employment, health, criminal justice, native title ).
Locate recent and relevant statistics that provide insights into the situation and provide a written description of the issues.
Briefly explain how this situation was created by colonisation and policies and practices (such as dispossession, ?protection?, segregation, assimilation, the Stolen Generations ).
List at least two Rights, at least one of which is an Indigenous Right, which align with the contemporary circumstance being discussed. (Reference the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, 2007 and UN Declaration of Human Rights,1948)
Describe how the Indigenous and/or Human Right chosen aims to improve the circumstance affecting Indigenous peoples under discussion. Give an example of a contemporary policy that aims to redress Indigenous people?s loss of rights, and attempts to improve their circumstance.
Include a reference list on a separate page.
